Keenan's Story

YouTube & T-Shirts: Learning Skills and Seeing Gaps

Keenan’s entrepreneurial journey began early. In seventh grade, he built the 27th most-viewed YouTube channel in Canada by mastering search engine optimization (SEO) to increase his videos’ visibility. In high school, he launched a successful online Pokémon themed T-shirt store, applying his digital marketing skills to e-commerce. These experiences taught him the value of digital marketing.

Lifeguard: Working in the Community & Learning Leadership

During his university years, Keenan balanced work and studies as a lifeguard & swimming lesson instructor.  At this time ran a volunteer program for the City of Langley that developed young leaders in the field of lifeguarding—in the process developing his own leadership skills.  While here, Keenan noticed the potential of young people and it inspired his passion for giving opportunities to youth.

His experiences during this period played a role in shaping his unique approach to business and team management.

Starting Longhouse: Building a Full-Service Agency

In 2016 Keenan started consulting independently; however after 2 years and growing the team with talented team members like Austin Mallar, Keenan founded Longhouse Branding & Marketing (Formerly known as Longhouse Media).  Stating “The agency’s name uses the powerful symbol of the longhouse, a traditional place where people gather, work together and celebrate.”

Defining Longhouse’s Purpose: Simplifying Leaders’ To-Do Lists

Originally a scattered brand where Keenan himself was wearing “too many hats”, Keenan improved the brand with a thoughtful mission, vision and set of values that persist to today.  At the core, Longhouse prioritizes the importance of helping business leaders focus on their strengths by managing their to-do lists. He explained, “We dedicate the time to do the to-do lists of busy leaders so they can focus on what needs them most.” This approach empowers leaders to make their biggest impact.

Mentoring & Speaking: Sharing Knowledge and Supporting Others

Keenan is committed to mentoring entrepreneurs and youth. Although he wasn't raised in his culture, Keenan expresses pride in being an Indigenous entrepreneur, stating, “Our people not only support one another through challenges, but also celebrate each other’s successes.” His leadership integrates Indigenous values with business excellence, and he is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders.

Running Longhouse Today: Leading a High-Impact Team

The company has helped over 850 businesses, governments and non-profits, winning time back for their leaders and generating more than $455 million in revenue.
